One Sheet Wonders

One of the challenges of crafting for me is to use up those scraps of paper. Unless it is a paper that I really love I usually don't use the scraps. One of the wonderful ladies on Mommysavers challenged all of us to do a One Sheet Wonder. If you aren't familiar with the idea, it is where you use just one sheet of 12x12 printed paper to make as many cards as you can without leaving much, if any, scrap. There are tons of templates on the web although some prefer to just cut and create freehand. I need a template or else I wind up with all kinds of scraps that I have to figure out what to do with.

The first set that I attempted made 14 cards out of 1 12x12 sheet of printed paper and 7 sheets of solid colored card stock. The mats and sentiments were made from scraps created when I cut my solid card stock down to make the cards. You can do this by using 12x12 solid card stock instead of 8.5x11.



The second set that I made was 9 cards and a card tote for them. All of the embellishments were made using scraps from the solid card stock that was used to make the card bases. I love the way this one turned out. I'm planning to give it to my 9 year old niece when she comes to visit us this summer.
